"The angular lines are drainage ditches dug in the 19th century in an attempt to abate mosquito populations. It backfired because the reduced water levels killed off fish that were the mosquitos' primary predators."

Jeremiah Johnson is a licensed commercial pilot and aerial photographer based at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport.
